Repeat Prescriptions

If you need a repeat prescription, you can telephone our Prescriptions number 0191 295 8520, or you can order in person at reception.  Please indicate each item you need.

Alternatively, you can order your repeat prescription directly through this site. Click on the link above and complete the simple registration form.

Your repeat prescription will be ready in 24 hours.

If you do need repeat prescriptions the doctor will review them with you at least once a year, to make sure they are still necessary.

Please note that the receptionists are unable to add or alter anything on your repeat prescription, so if you do want to make any changes, be sure to speak to a doctor first. You may find a telephone appointment suitable.

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).
