From 1st October 2018, GP services for registered patients at Battle Hill will be provided by Park Road Medical Practice. You will still be able to access GP services at Battle Hill Health Centre, but after that date you will also have the option of attending the surgery at 93 Park Road, Wallsend.

Please continue to use GP services at Battle Hill in the normal way. On 1st October 2018, your registration will automatically transfer to Park Road Medical Practice as your new provider.

Walk-in services are moving to a new Urgent Treatment Centre at North Tyneside General Hospital (Rake Lane). You will be able to book an appointment with the Urgent Treatment Centre by calling NHS 111, or walk in and wait between 8am and midnight, seven days a week You will no longer be able to access a walk in service at Battle Hill Health Centre Registered patients will be able to make an appointment at the Battle Hill GP practice by calling 0191 295 8520 Extra GP appointments are also available
at Battle Hill and across North Tyneside at evenings and weekends. Call your GP practice or NHS 111 to book one of these appointments

New Patient Registration

We do not exclude patients on grounds of race, sexuality, religion, social class, age, disability or medical condition. We welcome requests to join our practice from patients who live within our practice boundary. If you live outside our practice boundary please see the information further down this page about 'Out of Area' registrations.

How do I register?

couple_counsellingTo register as a new patient you can collect a registration pack from reception or register online (see our 'Registering online' page).

 The registration pack includes a registration form and health questionnaire. To ensure there are no delays in your registration, please complete your forms as fully as possible and return these to our reception team.

 You will also be asked to provide two forms of ID (one item of photo ID along with one document confirming your address) for proof of identification purposes.

Acceptable forms of ID can include:

  • birth certificate
  • marriage certificate
  • medical card
  • driving licence
  • passport
  • local authority rent card
  • paid utility bills
  • bank/building society cards/statements
  • National Insurance number card
  • payslip
  • letter from Benefits Agency/benefit book/signing on card
  • papers from the home office
  • P45.


After registering with the practice...

You will be registered with the Practice rather than a specific doctor but you still have the right to ask to see a particular doctor if you wish. If you have a repeat prescription then you should arrange an appointment with the doctor as soon as possible.

Adults will also be invited for a New Patient Health Check with our Health Care Assistant. This is to ensure we are aware of any chronic diseases i.e. diabetes, asthma, ischaemic heart disease etc and are offering you the appropriate care and services you need.

 Out of Area Registration

If you live outside the practice area you may also register with our practice.

Acceptance of your out of area registration will be at the discretion of a GP and will limit some of the services available such as home visits.
